Dry January is almost over, you’ve made it this far, but don’t give into temptation by reaching for an alcoholic beverage just yet. Tide yourself over until February with these refreshing mocktails.
1. Mojito Mocktail
You can’t go wrong with this fruity number.
For this mocktail, all you’ll need is some ice, sugar, the juice from three fresh limes, soda water, some fresh mint and then you're good to go. Mix together the fresh mint leaves and sugar in a small bowl for a few minutes. Put some crushed ice in a glass, add the lime juice, the mint leaves and sugar mixture, then top the rest up with soda water and you have yourself a refreshing mojito mocktail!
2. Virgin Pina Colada
This Virgin Pina Colada will transport you to a tropical island with just one sip.
Get yourself some pineapple juice, brown sugar, coconut milk, and some ice if you fancy whipping up this tropical delight. Blend together everything that you’ve brought; the brown sugar, ice, coconut milk and the all important pineapple juice, until the mixture is smoother than smooth. Once blended, fill your glass and drink up!
3. Virgin Strawberry Daiquiri
Pretend you’re lying on a beach soaking up the sun, even though it's January with this mocktail.
To make this delicious virgin strawberry daiquiri you’ll need to grab your trusty blender, fill it with frozen strawberries, grenadine syrup, lime juice and ice. Blend until smooth, but if the mixture is a bit too thick, don’t be afraid to add a bit of water!
4. Mother Mocktail
The mother of all cocktails - everyone is guaranteed to like this one.
Mix together equal amounts of orange juice, cranberry juice and apple juice, then serve over crushed ice. If you’re feeling exotic add some grenadine syrup to the mixture to give your cocktail that little something extra.
5. Virgin Bloody Mary
This mocktail is healthy and you can pretty much have it as a meal, what more could you want.
To prepare the Virgin Bloody Mary (or more like The Virgin Mary) you’ll need some tomato passata, 2 spring onions, lemon juice, Tabasco sauce, Worcestershire sauce, ice and some fresh chives.
Finely chop the chives and the spring onions. Blend together all the ingredients, apart from the chives, until the mixture is smooth, serve over ice and garnish with chives.
