Xbox announces another price drop - but will it help?By Sj.Cliff
Xbox announces another price drop - but will it help? The next-gen console war was over before it really started in November 2013. Despite coming out first, sales for the Microsoft console just didn’t stack up to that of the Playstation 4.
Just a year later, there was a clear victor in the battle of the black boxes – and it didn’t look great for Xbox. They we’re totally stomped on by just over 6 million more orders for the PS4.
And it doesn’t look like things are getting much better for the Xbone, as they’ve just announced a UK price drop. Now, for the humble price of £299.99, you can own the basic version of the console. Considering it started at £429.99, you’re getting a pretty good deal, I guess.
The deal's duration, as with most information surrounding the Xbox One’s sales, isn’t very clear. When the sneaksters last dropped the price of the console before, it was also considered a “promotional offer”.That later stuck due to the increase in sales the offer conjured up.
So if multiple price drops haven't got gamers ready for some hot sweaty console action, what will? Despite a pile of updates and exclusive release games, people are still disappointed with Xbox offerings:
if you want an Xbox one let me know I about to throw this piece of shit out the window— Gitterson (@BeirigerGarriso) April 14, 2015
And now my Xbox One completely freezes like 1:5 times I try to use it. I might be an outlier but this thing is a piece of shit.— Christian Spicer (@spicer) April 4, 2015
So we can only ask ourselves, what does Xbox have to do to get back into the game?
