Windows 8 falls behind

Windows 8 falls behind

Windows 8 is currently the most up to date version on the market. With its applications and various coloured squares, you wouldn’t look too foolish if you thought it was a smartphone display.

But it seems that new and shiney has lost its appeal.

15 months into its release Windows 8 has sold 100 million less copies than its slightly older counterpart. At 6 months the pair seemed pretty evenly tied but the newer copy seemed to loose momentum after that.

While the exact reason for the decline hasn’t been released, it could tie in with the lack of PC shipments during the 2013 period.

So is it simply the lack of computer sales slowing the media giants, or have items like the tablet (for the more work focused) and the Steam Machine (for you gamers out there) become tech of choice for this generation?

Tell us what you think with a cheeky Facebook post or a tweet!
