The Football Special Kicks off a Second Season

After a successful first season The Football Special (TSF) are back and better than ever!

Following the success his previous show Special1TV, Digimania’s Content Editor, Nick Astor has filled the comedy shaped void in one of the nation’s favourite past times. The online series takes a satirical look at “the beautiful game” and everything else in between.

Pulling in characters from the hottest stars in the game (and a few outside too) TSF’s host Malc gets up close and personal with the 20 managers of the English Premier League, along with antics outside of the game.

Without promotion the 29 episodes have earned placement on the iTunes “New and Noteworthey” list and gained over 200,000 YouTube views. With new writers from the BBC and Sky joining the team along with fellow undergrads the award winning programme has seen a few changes.

The 3D studio boasts a professional setup, with a more “Match of the Day” feel to it.

With a little help from photograpgher Robin Wenary, the camera angles have been fine-tuned adding to the shows realism.  Characters have also seen a redesign, with hair being the defining feature. New software allows the specially designed hairstyles to be given texture and colour close to the real thing. Even adventurous designs like Fellani have been captured – with a little help from Sideshow Bob.

Big names in the sporting world such as Ian Wright and James Alexander Gordon are also guest-starring in episodes, the success of TFS is sure to keep growing.

Catch new episodes every week on The Football Specials site or via iTunes.
