Sam hits GlobalGathering!

Sam hits GlobalGathering!

Sam managed to get her hands on tickets to the hottest dance festival the UK has to offer! So it’s only fair she lets us know what it was like…

Within half an hour of getting on site, the tent was set up and everything that wasn't kit got thrown inside as I made my way to the MistaJam interview. Despite him being a little late due to traffic, it was bloody amazing speaking to such an influence of the music scene.

There was a bit of a wait in between interviews.... Only 4 hours to go!!

So while I waited, I went to see what Global was all about!

Katie B wow'd with an amazing performance of hits we all know and love as well as a few tracks from her new album! The pumping base of the GG main stage got the crowd ready for the night’s entertainment.

Next... Interview time! All About She were awesome, stopping by the press tent for a little chat - and grabbing a bit of post gig phone-charge! Though the guys didn’t have long, they were epic to chat to! Stay tuned for the interview!

Chase and status bought the day to a monumental close. Their mind blowing 70 minute set was filled with thrills, spills and club stompers. It wasn't just the music that had me in awe, the combination of pulsing strobes, fire and lasers were only beaten by the spectacular fireworks show! The sky was as explosive as the crowd’s reaction!

Saturday was the day to be at a festival. The weather was sweltering…and that was in the shade. All in all a good day to shock it out to some awesome dance beats.

As well as the stages, there were tonnes of things happening around the site. I walked in an extremely slow and interesting circle back to my tent to check them out.

There was a lot of variety there the standard flowery headband stalls you see everywhere, to some epic carnival rides that I’m honestly too scared to go on. Didn’t stop these guys though!

And this fairly epic sort of inflatable-sumo-thing…Thanks Lucozade!

From there I hit the other stages (no matter how cool Main Stage is, you can usually find gems on the smaller ones).

The UKF Live stage was host to smash-hit female DJ Hannah Wants as well as acts like Wilkinson and Matrix & Futurebound (particular favourites of mine.

The Hospitality tent also boasted an amazing line-up: High Contrast snatching headline act after Camo & Krooked. During the day the volume was turned up by a selection of dance’s best faces like Stigma, Metrik and Reso.

The VIP area was another amazing addition to my time at GlobalGathering. Their “In The Woods” bar area, the music was flowing nearly as freely as the drinks. It was an amazing place to chill out – or at least try in the 29 degree heat!

Sunday was rounded off by sets from Eric Prydz, Alesso and The Prodigy, to name a few.

If I had to summarise the weekend for people who have never checked out GlobalGathering before : A kick ass place to let yourself run with the baseline, no matter which one you choose!
