From PS3 to real life

From PS3 to real life

Now who ever said that playing games was a waste of time?

Probably a lot of parents in all honesty.

Two years ago, racing simulator Gran Turismo 5 launched a competition to transform a humble home gamer into a real life racer. Now, the winner of that contest Jann Mardenborough (now 22) is within touching distance of his dream.

Jann shot to fame after he was chosen from 12 other hot-shots by former F1 ace Eddie Irvine.

While he did have to “endure” near constant gaming for six weeks – it payed off, giving him the chance to race for real!

Within 7 months he was behind the wheel competing in the Dubaii 24 hour race.

He’s recently been revealed as Arden Internationals GP3 (one down from F1) for the 2014 racing season.

Just goes to show you really can turn what you love into a career. So next time your parents/mates/significant other tells you to turn off your console, you have the perfect excuse.

We’re training, promise!
