Calling all UK students with a musical flair!

Calling all UK students with a musical flair!

Your country needs you!

For the first time since 2008, the BBC is asking the public to submit entries to The Eurovision Song Contest!

While Guy Freeman, the person I charge of the UKs bid for musical glory, is still willing to work with record labels to find an entry, video submissions from people like you are still up for consideration.

Next year’s contest is being held in Vienna, the capital city of last year’s winner, Conchita Wurst. The Austrian made headlines for the act in which “song, performance and staging", came together "perfectly" according to Freeman.

So do you think you have what it takes? Can you sing and strut with the best of Europe’s artists? Have you got a song that’ll reduce an audience to tears?

Then record your video audition and send it to the BBC before November 7th to be heard by their expert panel of judges.

And just to sweeten the deal, here are a few photos of singers you’ll be joining if you win the contest!

1997's Katrina and the Waves

1981's Bucks Fizz

1976's Brotherhood of Man

1969's Lulu

1967's Sandie Shaw
