Batman: Arkham Knight sneak peak!By Sj.Cliff
Hey internet! Resident geek SJ here.
For those of you that haven’t already heard, the Batman: Arkham Knight trailer has landed!
Only available on PS3, X-bone and PC, this game has been next-gen’d in every way possible. Five times bigger than the original map, Gotham has been split into highly detailed 3 islands, really making the most of the higher graphics capabilities available.
“The team at Rocksteady Studios is putting a tremendous amount of work into delivering the final chapter of our Batman: Arkham trilogy so that fans can feel what it’s like to be the Batman,” said Sefton Hill, Game Director at Rocksteady Studios. “We’re excited to be developing the game for next-gen platforms, which has allowed us to bring to life the design elements that we envisioned from the beginning”
Arkham Knight is the fourth and final in the kick-ass Batman series. Released later this year, I thought I’d share the excitement and give you all a little glimpse into the storyline and features.
(Super basic) Storyline!
This game see the return of (in my opinion) the scariest villain of the Batman franchise, The Scarecrow. Gathering a crew of super villains which include Penguin, Two-Face and Harley Quinn, they intend to “destroy Batman forever”. Set a year after Arkham City and the death of the Joker, the crew are set on vengeance.
… pssht not likely.
Watching the trailer really brings the story to life. Rocksteady have really ramped up the gritty, dark, dirtiness that they bought to the last 3 games, giving it an almost film-like quality.
Harleys back, baby!
And now, if you pre-order a copy of the game, playable! The add on gives players the opportunity to harness Harleys unique weapons, gadgets and abilities as well as obvious sex appeal across four challenge maps.
Drive the Batmobile!
FINALLY! The day we’ve all been waiting for! Rocksteady’s uniquely designed aims to be “the best car in any game ever”. There is so much detailing in it, it takes up the same storage data as a whole X-BOX 360 game.
Just like the films, Batman can call the Batmobile with the push of a button, bust through walls and even eject himself mid-ride to resume gliding through the city. There’s not been much more released than that, but from what I’ve already heard… I can’t wait.
Although there isn’t an official UK release date, GameStop America has been given the date October 14th. I wouldn’t suggest adding it to your calendar just yet though.
Until then, I’ll be bouncing around the office.
