There are some cities in the world which are true hot spots for gay culture!

These terrific ten have been assessed according to the explosiveness of their gay party scene coupled with the extent of their civil freedoms.

So whether you are after a gaycation or a potential new city to call home, these urban spaces of sparkle have plenty to offer!

Amsterdam

Fun, fabulous, breathtakingly beautiful and just. The gay scene is openly celebrated across several sites throughout this hip and historic city. Feel particularly free and frivolous in Warmeostraat, Amsel and Kerkstraat.

 

Gay cultureSydney

Although same sex marriage and gay adoption are yet to be legalised, gay Sydney is thriving thick and fast. Think scantily clad volleyball on Bondi Beach and cosmopolitan sipping before a night of wicked and wild abandon in one of the city’s dazzling gay clubs!    

Berlin

So same sex-marriage and adoption are yet to be legalised in Germany but the country’s capital is the rebellious big brother of gay Europe, as the city’s homosexual scene dates back to the roaring 20s. It is the place for spontaneous gay glamour, exploration, adventure and trendy time out.

The Americas are bit of a mixed bag for gay rights; however Mexico City, as the largest city in the world, boasts a sexual sophistication and vibrancy to rival that of many more liberal nations. Find your inner Latin spirit with a little help from some seriously sexy chicas and chicos.

Stockholm 

Ok, we’re talking sexy Scandinavians, a flawless civil rights record and a small city scintillating with style and confidence. The gay scene, like the population, is small, however most places are gay friendly and there is plenty of opportunity to get to know the locals on Stockholm’s sizzling nightclub scene.

London

A little closer to home this time! Yes, London is one of the world’s gay capitals, and it’s no surprise given the nation’s tolerant and open attitude to sexuality. With gay marriage as the last bastion to total equality, the gay party scene sure knows how to rock before any bells be ringing! The city is a treasure trove of love, lust and larks catering for every walk of life.

Tel Aviv

A city which is young, hip and basking in the freedoms afforded to gay people, Tel Aviv is another hot spot to be young, gay and gorgeous. The only right not yet accorded is gay marriage, but like in many countries, this does not deter a dynamic and decadent gay scene on the shores of the Mediterranean.

Spain boasts impressive gay rights and Barcelona is at the heart of its vibrant and hang-loose core. Like Mexico as a whole, Brazil is not as liberal as other countries when it comes to homosexuality, however gay civil unions and gay adoption are recognised. With flawless beaches littered with the bronzed and the beautiful, a fascinating culture and many a happening dance venues, you’ll soon find your rhythm in Rio!  

Toronto

Another nation that ticks all the boxes for gay rights, Canada, and Toronto in particular, will certainly give you a warm and wild welcome if you’re gay! The city is home to two large gay communities. These cosmopolitan hubs of culture and freedom are set in one of the most diverse cities in the world; a sure fire sign that eclectic and exciting experiences are on offer!
