The best in Beauty this winter

The best in Beauty this winter

It’s getting colder, the struggle to wake up for your 9am lectures is becoming harder and all of those nights out are beginning to take their toll…sound familiar?

A bit of retail therapy is good for everyone so we’ve found some of the best beauty buys around to keep you looking pampered this Christmas.

The BB Cream

The beauty world has gone crazy for the new BB Creams – and we can see why! A combination of moisturiser, concealer, foundation and SPF all in one bottle, we’ve never seen multi-tasking like it. Perfect for those in need of some TLC when the student lifestyle gets too much, it’s guaranteed to brighten up your skin in no time. One of our favourites is the Garnier Miracle Skin Perfector All-In-One BB Cream which is on offer at Superdrug right now. For just a fiver, it’d be rude not to!

The Dry Shampoo

It’s been around for a long time now but we still can’t stop singing its praises. When you’re hung-over and you’ve got to make your way into uni, an extra 20 minutes in bed seems much more appealing than washing your hair, and with a spritz of dry shampoo no one will know any different! We’ve tried and tested our fair share but our go-to bottle will always be Batiste. If you head to www.boots.com you can nab a bottle for £1.99 and it’ll leave your hair smelling amazing.

The Winter Tan

It’s that time of year when everyone begins to look a little bit pale and pasty, but with the right tan you’ll be glowing in no time. Avoid the giveaway orange hands by investing in a fake tan mitt and everyone will be thinking you’ve just flown back from the Bahamas. One of our fave face tanners is by Xen Tan – and with celebrity fans such as Made In Chelsea’s Millie Mackintosh, we’re pretty confident it won’t disappoint. For £12.95 from www.feelunique.com it’s a bit of a bargain, and they even do free delivery.

The Hair Saviour

Maintaining golden highlights is an expensive business, you’ve come to learn that having brown roots by the end of the term is a sad fact of life - well not anymore! John Frieda has brought out a Lightening Spray to make your highlights last just that little bit longer. You simply spray it on after washing your hair and style as usual! You might not see instant effects but after a few uses, hair definitely looks sun kissed. At £6.99 from www.boots.com we’re pretty sure it’s much cheaper than your local hairdressers.

The Lip Scrub

Chapped lips are not a good look so we’ve found a solution that tastes yummy and looks even better. Lush’s Bubblegum Lip Scrub, made from castor sugar and jojoba oil, will leave your lips feeling silky smooth - and in pocket size pots they’re a perfect handbag staple! They also come in Honey Trap, Mint Julip and Popcorn flavours so we’re sure you’ll be hooked in no time. Head over to www.lush.co.uk and get your hands on the scrub for £5.25.

London nail salon WAH has joined forces with Models Own to bring you their new nail art pens. Available in black, blue, pink, white and yellow the pens even have a dual application system with a fine line brush and a thin nib pen so it’s time to get creative! If you fancy adding a pop of colour to your nails, you can get your own Models Own Pen from www.asos.com at a steal of £4.
