Socks and sandals? You’ve got to be kidding…

Socks and sandals? You’ve got to be kidding…

We had our first glimpse at the sun a few weeks ago and I’m sure I wasn’t the only one to get overly excited and break out the summer footwear.

The problem is of course, the British weather, it – reverted back to being freezing cold. So now I’m stuck with a pile of sandals and other footwear not suited to the spring ‘breezes’. Luckily this season has the perfect fixer for people with chilly feet (like me)…

Socks and sandals have always been a fashion faux pa. The trick is to turn your favourite spring shoes into ankle boots using socks… just bear with me.

Not only can you look like you actually know what you’re doing fashion-wise (of which I have no clue) but you can keep your feet warm during this awkward part of the year.

Cheeky tips…

Pastel socks look amaze with metallic sandals.

Go sports lux with colour block socks in cutaway shoes and boots.

Stay away from….

Frilly white socks and high-shine black shoes. They should be left in the schoolyard.

Don’t get over girly. Bows are cute, frills are cute, add them both together and you may just make people throw up.
