Mr (and Mrs) University UK

Mr (and Mrs) University UK

Are you tired of the lazy rep that students get? Well prove them wrong by entering Mr University 2014! Mr University is the first and only UK university based fitness competition,  a showcase of the most healthy, athletic and fit students that the UK has to offer.

The contests hope to highlight the positive effects of an active lifestyle. Not only does it give you more confidence but exercise has been proven to have a positive effect on your state of mind and relieve stress – perfect for those deadlines!

But it isn’t just about who has the biggest muscles. Mr University is also judged on aspirations, their personality and how well they come across on stage. There is also a chance for non-competitors to be involved, with an online vote being held in the run up to the event! It’ll also be broadcast online.

Hosted in The Leicester o2 Academy with professional sound, lighting and visual projector displays to add that ‘wow’ factor to the event. They expect to sell out the 600 person capacity so if you want tickets, get them quickly.

There are different categories to enter including:

Men’s Physique – a bodybuilder/fitness model, a muscular & conditioned physique. Swim shorts above mid-thigh. Interview in sportswear, interview questions regarding training, lifestyle, ambitions.

Men’s Athletic – a high calibre sportsman, an athletic, well-built physique. Swim shorts above the knee. Interview in sports kit, interview questions regarding their sport.

Women’s Bikini – a bikini competitor, a toned & conditioned physique. Competition Bikini’s, high heels. Interview in sportswear, interview questions regarding training, lifestyle, ambitions.

Women’s Athletic – a high calibre sportswoman, an athletic and in shape physique.  Regular Bikini’s, high heels. Interview in sports kit, interview questions regarding their sport.

*athletic categories specifically are for individuals registered and playing a university BUCS sport during the 2013/14 academic year.

The show will run in two halves, the first half includes an introduction to Mr University and the judges, the show prizes, and then the contestants are welcomed on stage.
In the second half all the competitors will be welcomed back onstage for the top 3 or 5 from each category to be announced who will then be interviewed. Using the competitors interview performance combined with their physique and stage presence, the winners are announced!

Entry forms (along with rules) are available from the beginning of February with spectator tickets becoming available shortly afterwards.

Think of entering and need a few tips? There’s a contest preparation and posing workshop for all competitors at the University of Leicester Students Union on Saturday 8th February.
