Review your student property
A university student has created a website for students to highlight both negative and positive student housing experiences.
During Ben Oakenfull’s first two years at university, he came across mixed experiences with his letting agents. Ben, 21, now hopes Uni Shack will help future students avoid a repeat of this.
"From my research I couldn’t find anything else that specifically allows students to rate their property and landlord/letting agent so following all these mixed reviews about student properties I developed Uni Shack," Ben says.
Future plans for Uni Shack include speeding up the review process and the addition of an advice section that specifically targets housing issues such as bills, problematic housemates and where to find the best housing.
"Once students start rating properties, this will help the next group of tenants before they move in so they know what the five star or one star properties are before they part with any money," Ben says.
There is currently a competition to win a £10 Amazon voucher when a new review is made.
