This month’s new music releases you have to hear

2017 has already treated us to some great music, from the likes of Wiley, The XX and Bonobo, making it look like this year’s going to be a stellar year for music.

We’ve whittled down the best new music releases of 2017 so far.

The XX - I See You

The XX have released their third solo album ‘I See You’ after almost five years of silence. The band has stuck to their roots with their emotional and fragile vocals, but have created a fresh adventurous sounding album. Their sound is definitely evolving and we’re excited to see what’s next from The XX.

Wiley - Godfather

Godfather is an energetic tribute to everything that grime as a genre has achieved last year. Wiley mentions and applauds other MC’s on this album, so expect to hear plenty of name dropping. He's collaborated with plenty of other big names, so expect to hear from the likes of JME, Skepta and Devlin.

Ed Sheeran - Shape of You

Ed Sheeran’s much awaited latest single Castle on the Hill shot straight to the number one spot. He released his second album back in 2014 and is set to release his new album ‘÷’ on the 3rd March 2017. He gives us a little taste of his new album with this single, showing us what to expect, and it looks like Ed Sheeran’s sound is definitely evolving.

London Grammar - Rooting For You

The trio are back on the scene after being off the music scene since 2013. Their latest single Rooting For You is a moving, dramatic ballad, which will leave you wanting to find out what else London Grammar have in store for us this year.

Bonobo - Migration

Bonobo is back with his experimental, colourful and atmospheric latest album Migration. He never fails to surprise us with his music but this album is truly spectacular. This album is both relaxing and stimulating and is guaranteed to take you on an emotional journey.
