Who was the nicest person you’ve ever interviewed and why?

Recently we interviewed David Guetta in Ibiza for 4 Music. Our producer wanted something different to the same old sit-down interview, and came up with a great concept of a Hangover style piece. The idea was that after the interview we partied with Guetta, and woken up the next day in a trashed villa with no sign of him. The aim was to find Guetta before his next gig, or there would be trouble!!! It was a really funny shoot and David was so cool, even though we got him to do a few crazy things!

What has been the biggest disaster you’ve had on air?

Melvin always slips up when he says the name Sandra Bullock... you can guess what he says instead! Well, one day on the Kiss Breakfast Show we had a promotion for one of her films which Melvin decided to read and it was a nightmare as he ended up saying Sandra B*****Ks instead!

You guys are together a lot, what is the most annoying thing about each other?

We have a similar taste in clothing and so sometimes we end up coming to work in virtually the same outfits. This results in us looking like some kind of wannabe boy band that have lost their other band members!

You have a lot of banter and don’t take yourselves too seriously, but have you ever been star struck?

I don’t think we have ever been star struck but we remember being really excited to meet Jay-Z!!! There were so many DJs there and everyone was trying to act cool even though they were “Die Hard” fans. We asked to take a photo and I don’t think we have cared so much about a picture in our lives. When we left, Rickie was like “send that to my email address please and send it to my phone and back it up on your computer when you get home, I don’t wanna lose it that photo!”

Getting into the media often takes a bit of a charm, what was your biggest blag whilst at uni?

Rickie is the blagging master, especially when it comes to clubs. He was like our mobile guest list pass at Uni. He always knows the right things to say on the door and he is just the sort of person promoters want in their clubs due to his good looks and boyish charm.

Making friends at uni is often a bit daunting for freshers, how did you guys meet and what words of wisdom do you have for our readers?

We met at uni as freshers when I (Rickie) introduced myself to Melvin. Even though he looked like an absolute geek he seemed to be a really nice person and we have been friends ever since. We met a lot of our really close friends at uni, who often feel more like family. At uni you meet like-minded people and make new friends who have similar interests – for us, that is one of the best things about going.
