Misfits series three

Channel 4’s BAFTA nominated series Misfits is back for its third series.

The much-loved Nathan Young (played by Robert Sheehan) may have left the crew, but his shoes have already been filled. The new series sees Joseph Gilgun (star of This Is England '86) enrolling for community service as new guy Rudy. He lines up alongside Misfits resident delinquents Bafta award winner Lauren Socha, Nathan Stewart-Jarrett, Antonia Thomas and Iwan Rheon in the super-sized series which sees its run extended to eight episodes.

What can we expect from series three?

The new series promises to be a good’un. Here’s what we’ve heard so far...

New kid on the block Rudy gets a rude awakening in his first few days of community service, learning that with the keys to the infamous locker room comes a great deal of running and screaming and, in some instances, killing. But that really is the least of his worries. More pressing is just how to keep his secret superpower...well...secret. And just how super is it? As in is it one from the A- List?

The rest of the gang are also back with their all-new powers. So just how did that trade-off with Seth the superpower dealer (Matthew McNulty), go down? You would hope that at least one of them has a power approaching something halfway useful. You would hope... Is Simon any closer to fulfilling his destiny as Superhoodie? And when does he learn to do all that nifty parkour?

With Seth still trading powers, zombies on the loose, havoc being wreaked with events from the past and even more havoc being wreaked in the present, things haven't got any quieter for our gang...

Misfits Series 3, and the Series 1 – 3 boxset, will be available on DVD from 26th December 2011.
