Into the Water, Paula Hawkins (02 May 2017 — Transworld Publishers Ltd). From the author of The Girl on the Train comes Hawkins’ next novel. Another psychological thriller, the book explores two sisters and how their pasts may be playing a part in their futures.
Difficult Women, Roxane Gay (3rd January 2017 — Little, Brown Book Group). Gay explores the lives of various women and the challenges that they face; one of the strands follows a woman who has to pretend she doesn’t know that the man she’s married and his twin brother are impersonating each other.It’s said to be the perception of modern America.
Carve the Mark, Veronica Roth (17th January 2017 — Harper Collins Publishers). Known for the Divergent series, Roth’s next novel is the first in a new science fiction fantasy series. Set in a world where everyone has a ‘currentgift’ — a unique power that is meant to shape the future — it explores the story of Akos and Cyra and how they need to help each other to survive.
Norse Mythology, Neil Gaiman (7 February 2017 — Bloomsbury Publishing PLC). Also known for hisnovels Stardust and American Gods, Gaiman’s latest novel is his retelling of the Norse Gods (Odin, Thor, Loki, etc).
The Secret Lives of the Amir Sisters, Nadiya Hussain (12th January 2017 — Harlequin (UK)). From the winner of series six of The Great British Bake Off comes a new women's novel. Hussain tells the story of four sisters who are struggling, not only with the neighbours but on the inside too, as the only Muslims in the English village of Wyvernage.
